A social movement is when groups of people work together to resist an oppression or make some kind of change.

What is May Day?

May Day is the day where people fight against things they dont like and stand up for what they believe in through a protest.

How did May Day become a day to protest?

May Day became a day to protest on May 1st, 1886 when 200,000 U.S. workmen held a big strike about how they did not want to work all of their day in poor conditions with very little pay.

Describe what Fremont HS students will be doing on May 1st?

On May 1st students and staff will be walking to from Fremont HS to San Antonio Park protesting with other highschools about what we want to stand up for and what we want changed in our world.

Some of the work our class has done to research previous social movements this school year was studying a chosen topic in our protest history and finding information of that certain topic.

Out class decided what our protest goals will be by taking a survey and ranking certain topics from impotance from least impotance.

I predict the May Day protest will be unsuccessful bcause we cant decide a topic and this will cause chaos and confusion amongst people.
